I learned so much here and I have become so comfortable in Japan that I really don't want to go home.

Hector from 2012

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

I really enjoyed all of the events. However, I really enjoyed the cooking classes because I love Japanese food and learning how to make it. It was a great opportunity to talk to Japanese students and practice my own speaking.

Which co-curriculum classes did you find most satisfying?

The lecture we had on Japanese Psychology was definitely my favorite because it helped me better understand how and why Japanese people think the way they do. I always thought Japanese people were just nicer people and although that opinion has not change

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

Every part of the program was interesting and productive. I learned so much here and I have become so comfortable in Japan that I really don't want to go home.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

I used all of them. However, the most helpful tool I used was my pocket notebook. Every time I learned a new ward, I added it to my notebook to study.

Any further thoughts or tips for those considering the program or new KCP students?

KCP is amazing. If you are willing to work hard, keep an open mind, and actively participate in the activities provided by the school, you are looking at the right place. Also, there are ways to save money in Japan and still get the same experience, which I will write in a blog for KCP soon.

Testimonials

Not only did I have a great time at KCP, but the improvement I’ve witnessed in my Japanese proficiency is astounding. I still can’t quite believe I’ve learned so much in such a short time. Although I’m sad that I’m leaving by the end of this term, I’ll always have fond memories of my time here. I am truly grateful to all the staff, especially the instructors, as well as my fellow classmates for making my time here exceptional. I highly and without hesitation recommend KCP International Japanese Language School to anyone looking to learn Japanese.
