I enjoyed the trip to Kamakura.

Russell from 2014

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

I enjoyed the trip to Kamakura. It allowed a view of Japan outside of Tokyo in a less urban, more traditional setting. It also showed off a lot of the history of Japan as well. I do wish however there was more time to explore.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

Pair work was often helpful, as long as the other person was willing to participate.

What did you find most valuable in the Culture Course?

The Japanese psychology course was very interesting.

Any further thoughts or tips for those considering the program or new KCP students?

Bring a heavy jacket no matter what season your going. Early spring can be very cold at night, and rainy season is misserable without a decent coat.

Testimonials

I’m a bargain shopper so I looked at a lot of different study abroad options in Japan before selecting KCP. I was slightly worried because I literally could not find any bad comments about KCP anywhere online, and that made me suspicious. … But the truth is, KCP is simply the best! I have no complaints at all. For anyone seriously interested in learning Japanese, KCP is fast-paced but really fun. I totally recommend it!
