I can learn a lot at KCP if I apply myself.

Brian from 2013

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

I really enjoyed the US Program bus trip we took to Odawara, and Hakone

Why did you select this program?

Because I've been to KCP before and it's familiar and comfortable to me. I also know that I can learn a lot at KCP if I apply myself.

Any suggestions for improving class activities or materials?

I really appreciated the special study class for the US program students before the final.

Any further thoughts or tips for those considering the program or new KCP students?

I highly suggest to new students that you do a homestay if it's your first time in Japan. It can be pretty difficult to make friends outside of class so having a host family who can make you feel connected to the society is pretty important. Do you best to make friends in your classes as its hard to meet Japanese friends quickly. This school is great at helping you to greatly improve your Japanese language skills, if you are willing to put time and effort into it.

Testimonials

Because I am a huge fan of research and spreadsheets, I created an excel worksheet comparing numerous Japanese study abroad programs by cost, housing, length of study, and many other comparison points. Overall, KCP came out superior based on the amount of things that you get for the price. After completing the program, I can say choosing KCP was a perfect decision. KCP is a real school — professional teachers, strict grading systems, textbooks – the whole package. KCP proved to be much more than I expected – the classes are tough, but it taught me how to work harder, build a work ethic, and I am coming out with many rich experiences thanks to KCP. This school truly prepares you for higher levels and entrance into Japanese colleges.
